Putting My Experience
Jamie Whelan is a dedicated and sincere public servant, a downtown Flagstaff small business owner, and an educator. Whelan is a registered Democrat who has been a City Councilmember since 2016 and served as the Vice-Mayor until 2018. She is now seeking to elevate her leadership and become the Mayor in 2020.
Councilmember Whelan was first elected to the Flagstaff City Council in 2016 and was also selected by the then Council to serve as Vice-Mayor alongside Mayor Coral Evans until 2018. She worked with Mayor Evans to forward efforts on attainable housing for Flagstaff residents and paid family leave for city employees.
